Christmas Time

To all those who are loved by God and called to be saints:

It has been a remarkable last couple of days. Thank you so much for the support, and thank you all so much for the prayer and overwhelming encouragement. I still need about four thousand dollars in the months ahead. This has been quite daunting I must admit, and I know in my head that God's will will be done no matter what, but it has been stressful. Please pray for comfort and support.

On a cheerier note, Yesterday, John Hamon and Pat Chiles led a men's Bible study. We delved into the word and consumed a crazy amount of food (mainly bacon). I was given the opportunity to share the things God is doing in my life and my upcoming mission to India. It was a great way to express the things I want you all to know. That being said, I'm making a video interview! John Hamon has agreed to help, and if anyone can think of questions I should be asked, or has a way of helping, please email me or leave a note on my Facebook.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night,

16 “For God so loved the world,[a] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
John 3:16-18

food for thought

To all those who are loved by God and called to be saints:

Every Thursday night, John Hamon hosts an amazing men's bible study. We have been diving into timothy and I just wanted to share something that came up in regards to the leader(s) of one's country in 1 Timothy 2:1-4

1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth

As the time comes again in which we as a people decide who our leader shall be for the next four years, consider that it is an instruction of Paul to pray for those who are in authority over us. Tonight, our brother Jonathan pointed out the emperor of Rome at the time of this writing was Nero, and no matter how negative our outlook on a particular leader's policies are, Paul wrote to Timothy that prayer should be given up for those in authority under the thumb of the infamous Nero. It encouraged me to pray for the politicians I disagree with and i hope it does the same for you, :)

Everyone with me sends you greetings. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. (Titus 3:15)

Welcome

To all those who are loved by God and called to be saints:

Welcome to the blog! I'm exited to get this started and will begin by saying thank you for your prayers and support. This is a tool that I will be using throughout my journey to inform you on my progress and document all that God is doing.

With that said, here is the Wednesday 12/14/2011 update:

For anyone who is just joining my adventure, January sixth i shall embark on a sixth month journey. I've joined an organization called YWAM that organizes mission trips and trains young people in regards to missions. For three months I shall train as a disciple of Christ in England at a YWAM base called the King's Lodge. There I will learn from scripture and the understanding of Christians much more mature than I. I will also be blessed to experience three months of prayer, worship, and fellowship while studying Hindi culture. It will be here that we as a group decide where in India we will pursue our three month mission. From there we will travel to the destination selected to serve God.

Monday I received all of my final acceptance paperwork! God has had an amazing hand in coordinating the variables involved in all of this, but there are still two things that need to complete. I need to contact the British consulate for my visa and I need to raise quite a bit more money. I've received three hundred and sixty five dollars from some amazing people (to whom I am very grateful), and I've begun the process of selling my X-Box and my electric guitar, but I still have quite a bit to raise in the allotted time, so please keep me in your prayers.

Aside from the pressures of getting the YWAM stuff completed, Finals are over and I have a lot more free time. If anyone wants to meet and talk, study scripture, or just hang out before I leave, please email me or call, my email is johnnyywam@live.com and my phone # is (760)-525-7978

to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.
(Romans 16:27)
